جلست أخيراً والوقت مساء والجو جميل في شرفة مطلة على النيل في منزل صديقي الكاتب الفنان الأستاذ نعيم عطية وهو يقرأ لي ترجمة لنص قصائد كافيس شاعر الإسكندرية، ما أسهل الكلمات، ما أبسطها، ما أعذبها، المعاني مبرأة من التعقيد ومن الشطارة، ليس المهم في هذه القصائد ما تقوله، بل ما تنم عنه، تحسب أنك تقرأ حكاية من حكايات كل يوم، عن لقاء عابر، عن ليلة تضيئها الشموع، فإذا ما تقرأ هو في الوقت ذاته خلاصة مأساة الإنسان غزاء قدره، تلهفه على الموت وخوفه منه، لم أر في هذه القصائد غير المعلقة الذهبية الصغيرة التي يدنيها كافافيس إليك، بها رحيق يسقيك به مثل هذا البحر الزاخر بالأحاسيس، عنده كل ومضة شمس، وكل قطرة عصارة ألف عنقود، هذا هو الشعر في بساطته وإنسانيته، أثره عند السامع لابد أن يتصاعد من الإعجاب إلى الطرب، إلى اللذة إلى النشوة، ثم إلى الهزة التي ترج الروح رجا، لتبحر نحو الشاطئ من بعيد، نحو الضباب، نحو السراب، لا تدري.
