يهدف المُتنمر أو المتسلط في إلحاق الأذى بالآخرين نتيجة غياب المسؤولية وانعدام الوعي لديه، ويشعر كذلك بمتعة كبيرة عند إيذاء الآخرين ومشاهدتهم يتألمون ويتوسلون.
