حيث أن هذه المشكلة تعتبرُ سبباً هاماً ومؤثراً في تعثّر الكثير من الطلاب دراسيّاً ونفسيّاً وإجتماعيّاً، وقد تدفعُ بالبعض إلى كُرْهَ المدرسة وتركها، وهي ظاهرة العنف الشديد في المدارس بين الطلاب والذي بلغ حدّاً من التَّوَحُشِ لدرجة أن العلماء تعامَلوا معها باسم "ظاهرة التَّنمُّر".
