أغلب مسائل هذه الرسائل ودرر من حكمة أهل البيت، عنونه بـ"درر الأسرار"، حيث أن مؤلفها يبحر بها في أسرار حكمة أهل بيت العصمة، فكشف النقاب عن تلك المسائل الجليلة، لأنها مفتاح باب من غوامض أبواب التوحيد، وشرح لغاية مراتب التفريد والتجريد، ولأن السائل طلب من المؤلف بيانها، وكشف نقابها، على ما هو الأمر في الواقع الأولي، فقد أجابه لما هو فيه من غاية غاية التعسر، لكمال اختلال البال، وتعارض الأحوال، ومعاناة السفر بالحل والارتحال.
وبالنظر لأهمية هذه الرسالة فقد تم الاعتناء بتحقيقها معتمداً على ثلاث نسخ: النسخة الأولى: وهي نسخة مخطوطة، ورمز لها بـ(ب)، وهي من أهم النسخ التي اعتمد عليها في هذا التحقيق. النسخة الثانية: وهي نسخة مخطوطة أيضاً، ورمز لها بت (ج)، ويوجد اختلاف كبير بينها وبين النسختين (ب) و(د)، وهي ناقصة من المسالة الرابعة إلى آخر الرسالة، حيث يوجد على هوامش هذه المخطوطة بعض التعليقات.
النسخة الثالثة: وهي نسخة حجرية، مطبوعة ضمن مجموعة الرسائل للمصنف، ورمز لها بـ(د) ويوجد اختلاف يسير بينها وبين النسخة الأولى (ب) والعكس في (ج). وبعد مطابقتها وتقطيعها وترقيمها، أرجع الآيات والرويات التي اقتبسها المؤلف إلى مصادرها الصحيحة قدر الإمكان مع مطابقتها على المصادر التي بين أيدينا، مع ضبطها وإكمالها في الهامش.
