الغرض من تأليف هذا الكتاب تعليمي في المقام الأول، على الرغم من حساسيتي من كتب البلاغة التعليمية -وبعض هذه الكتب عظيم- هذه الحساسية التي يمكن إرجاعها لعدة عوامل، لعل أبرزها أن البلاغة من بين الحقول المعرفية التي شهدت تحولاً جذرياً وسريعاً من خصوبة التفكير النظري الحيوي، إلى التلقين العقيم، حتى كادت تقترن في أذهاننا بالعلم الذي يقوم على استظهار قواعد تجويد الكلام وكأنه لم يكن يوماً ما معرفة نظرية تثير أسئلة تتعلق بالممارسة الخطابية للإنسان بشتى أشكالها وأنواعها.من هنا فإن أحد أهداف هذا الكتاب العملية، استنبات البلاغة الجديدة في الوحدات التكوينية بالجامعة؛ فلا ينبغي حصر الدرس البلاغي المدرسي في صور الأسلوب دون الحجج، أو ربطها بالنصوص الأدبية دون غيرها من الخطابات التواصلية، مادامت البلاغة ارتبطت في أصولها الأولى بالخطابات العمومية ومنها الخطاب الاحتفالي ذو الطابع الأدبي.وإذا كانت هذه البلاغة ضرورية لوصف وفهم الخطابات، فإنها –من جهة أخرى- ترسخ وعياً نقدياً قادراً على مقاومة التضليل والتغليط اللذين تمارسهما الخطابات في حياتنا وخاصة الخطابات السياسية والإشهارية التي تعاظم دورها مع هيمنة وسائل التواصل الحديثة في عصر التقدم التقني الهائل وازدياد الاستهلاك.
