يتناول هذا البحث الصورة البلاغية عند عبد القاهر الجرجاني من حيث النظر والتطبيق والصورة البلاغية وسيلة أساسية في يد الناقد البصيرن يكتشف عن طريقها موقف الشاهر وتجربته، ومدى الأصالة الفنية التى يتمتع بها وهي كذلك إحدى مقاييسه النقدية المهمة لبيان درجة الصياغة الفنية من الأصالة، ومن الخلق والإبداع لأنها أساس الشعر إن لم تكن الشعر نفسه فالصورة هى الوعاء الذي يختزن المكنون الشعوري والتعبيري للفنان إنها ليست من قبيل الزينة العارضة، التي تطرأ على المعنى الأصلي، كما لو أن الشعر يكفر بالمعنى نثرًا ثم يعد له الصورة التي تناسبه والقافية والوزن اللذين يلائمانه. وتكمن أهمية الصورة في كونها الوسيط الأساسي بين التجربة الشعرية والكلمات المعبرة.
