الحمد لله الذي خلق الإنسان، وعلّمه البيان، وتفضل عليه بالأمن والإيمان، والصلاة والسلام التامان الأكملان، على سيدنا وحبيبنا محمد رسول الإنس والجان، وعلى آله وأصحابه ومن تبعهم بإحسان. وبعد، فإن التأمين التعاوني بصورته المتطورة الذي أُنشئت على أساسه شركات التأمين الإسلامية في العالم، علم جديد، وكل جديد تختلف في فهمه وتصوّره الأذهان تبعاً لاختلاف الأفهام عند بني الإنسان. وقد بدأت مسيرة بحثه ليكون البديل المشروع للتأمين التجاري في أسبوع الفقه الإسلامي الثاني، ومهرجان ابن تيمية الذي عقد بدمشق عام 1961م. وتتابعت بعد ذلك الندوات والمؤتمرات الخاصة بالتأمين إلى أن استقر الأمر على حرمة التأمين التجاري بجميع أنواعه وإقرار التأمين التعاوني بديلاً مشروعاً في الدورة الأولى للمجمع الفقهي الإسلامي التي عقدت بمكة المكرمة في العاشر من شعبان سنة 1398هـ - الموافق 1978م. والتأمين التعاوني بصورته النظرية علم، متعدد الجوانب كغيره من العلوم، وقد تبلورت مادته العلمية لتشكل ثلاثة محاور رئيسة هي: التأمين التعاوني فكراً، والتأمين التعاوني فقهاً، والتأمين التعاوني ثقافة، ويضم كل محور من هذه المحاور عدداً من الموضوعات الكلية التي تشتمل على كثير من المسائل والجزئيات الفرعية. أما من الناحية العملية فيشكل التأمين التعاوني صناعة جديدة في عالم الاقتصاد الإسلامي، تحتل فيها شركات التأمين الإسلامية مكانة مرموقة حيث تحتل المصارف الإسلامية مركز الصدارة بين المؤسسات المالية الإسلامية وتليها مباشرة شركات التأمين الإسلامية ثم تأتي بعدها شركات الإعادة الإسلامية وختاماً الأسواق المالية الإسلامية لتشكل مجتمعة دعائم الاقتصاد الإسلامي المنشود. وبناءً عليه فإن التصوّر الكلي الصحيح للتأمين التعاوني بصورته المتطورة التي أُصّلت على أساسها العمليات التأمينية في شركات التأمين الإسلامية يتطلب معرفة تفصيلية بحقيقته النظرية وتطبيقاته العملية.
