يضم هذا الكتاب بين دفتيه جميع ما ورد في كتاب "الجامع الصحيح للإمام البخاري"، بما في ذلك الأحاديث المعلقة، وقد جعل الحاشية مكاناً للأحاديث المعلقة، ولم يدخلها في تعداد الأحاديث، فالرقم المسلسل هو للأحاديث المرفوعة، وقام بتوثيق النصوص، فكل حديث - أو رواية - أذكر رقمه في آخره تبعاً للأصل بحيث إذا أحب القارئ الرجوع إليه عرف مكان الحديث.
وكان من طريقة الأستاذ محمد فؤاد عبد الباقي رحمه الله في ترقيمه للكتاب، انه يذكر عند النص الأول للحديث جميع أرقام أطرافه في الكتاب، الأمر الذي يساعد القارئ على الوقوف على جميع روايات الحديث الواحد لو أراد؛ وللإستفادة من هذه المعلومة فإني أذكرها ليستفيد القارئ أن أراد، فإن كان النص الذي أذكره هو الاول فذلك خير؛ لأنه عنده تذكر أرقام الأطراف، وإن لم يكن الأول، فإني أذكر رقم الحديث وبعده رقم الحديث الأول الذي تذكر عنده الأطراف؛ هكذا [1100 (57)] فالرقم الأول هو رقم الحديث محل البحث، وأما الثاني (57) فهو الرقم الذي تذكر عنده أطراف الحديث.
وإذا كان الحديث مما أخرجه مسلم، فإني أذكر رقمه عنده أيضاً إتمام للفائدة هكذا: [خ 24، 129م] فــ (خ) إشارة إلى رقم البخاري، و(م) إشارة إلى مسلم.
