تدور مسرحية نزوة العاشق الرعوية فى إطار نمطى لا يختص ببلد بعينه أو منطقة دون أخرى، يتميز هذا الإطار أولاً بأنه منظر طبيعى عبارة عن مرعى به ما يميز الوعى من حيوان ونبات، ويتميز ثانياً بأنه يتكلف الترفع عن الطبيعة بإضافة أشياء إلى الرحلة الرعاه ليست بين إيديهم على الدوام، مثل الورود الكثيرة والأزاهير الوفيرة والرقص الممتاز والغناء المطرب والعزف على الناى خاصة، ويكتمل هذا الإطار بالحديث عن الحب حديثاً لا ينقطع، ينتقل من إبراز ما فيه من نعيم إلى الحديث عما يسببه من الآم، وكثيراً ما يستطرد إلى النصح والإشارة بالحلية، لهذا كان هذا الإطار الرعوى محبوباً فى العصور التى لا تجد للتعبير عن إحساساتها مجالاً مباشراً، وفى الفترات من حياة الشعرائ التى يتوقون فيها إلى الفرار من الواقع إلى جو شاعرى لا يخضع لما يخضع له عالن الواقع من قيود، ولا تكون فيه المغصات إلا كما تكون الأحلام، هذا الإطار يختلف فى مكوناته المادية عن إطار حكاية أمينة، ولكنه يشبه فى جوهره.
