رواية سُلاف بغداد هي الرواية الخامسة لمحسن الموسوي، ثمة بطل في الرواية هو حانة "سُلاف" بتاريخها وحضورها الغريب في حياة بغداد وتطلعاتها ومأساتها: الأسماء والمسميات تحيل على "سُلاف" ومنه ينبعث الفعل وإليه كأنه قلب غامض لمخلوق غريب.
هنا يجري الإشتباك بين الفعلي والمتخيَّل، الواقعي والغريب والمريب، إذ يهتزّ التاريخ كتضاريس المكان في إحتضار يُثير عن بُعد إحتمالات أمل قادم تنيره من الذاكرة لحظات حبٍّ طافحة بالشوق والحنين.
