للأمثال - وعددها حوالي الأربعين - مكانة مهمّة في الأناجيل الإزائيّة، وقد شدّت إنتباه المستمعين دوماً، وإن الأمثال سهلة الفهم ظاهريّاً، وتبدو متكيّفة مع الجمهور الشعبيّ، ومع ذلك يحوي لغزاً يتطلّب مفسّراً لكي يتمّ سماعها، ولنقل أيضاً إنّ أعداد الدراسات التي صدرت حول الموضوع لم توضّح المسألة دوماً، وما أكثر الفوارق الدقيقة بين المقارنة والتشبيه والمجاز التي يجب إحترامها.
ولنستفيد جيداً من هذا الكتاب، يحسن عندما يحصل أيضاً على العدد الإضافيّ رقم 50 حول الأمثال الرابينيّة (تأليف دومينيك دو لا ميزونوف Dominique de la Maisonneuve الذي يشير إليه د. مرغُرا عدّة مرّات، حينها سنرى بوجهٍ أفضل كيف أن أمثال الإنجيل تضرب جذورها في أرض التقليد اليهودي.
