هذا الكتاب سيرة الرئيس ورئيس الوزراء الباكستاني الأسبق ذو الفقار علي بوتو، الذي واجه الموت بشجاعة، بدلاً من التنازل عن صراع حياته الطويل لإنهاء الظلم، وإعطاء فقراء الشعب في أرضهم الكرامة والحرية وتسبب إعدامه بوحشية وبربرية من قبل الطغمة العكسرية الحاكمة (1988- 1977)، في ردة فعل قوية في أنحاء العالم، فالمعاناة والإذلال اللذان تحملهما بشجاعة وسمو ووقار، أصبحا مصدراً للفخر، ومثالاً لفقراء شعوب العالم المناضلة من أجل عيش أفضل وأكثر كرامة وجدير بالإحترام.
لقد كرس ذو الفقار علي بوتو حياته لإزالة الأسى من قلوب الفقراء والمظلومين، ومسح دموع أطفال أمته الفقيرة، ولذلك يقول البعض، إن موته ترك أمة من اليتامى وليس مستغرباً بعدها، إن قلته أصبح دمعة في عيون كل طفل في باكستان.
وهذه الكلمات لأبنه السيد ميرمرتضى بوتو، ومضمون هذا الكتاب في جزء كبير منه إستناداً إلى ملف الإلتماس الدستوري المقدم إلى محكمة (لاهو العليا) في السادس من آذار (مارس) 1978، ضد الإحتجاز غير القانوني وغير اللائق للسيد ذو الفقار علي بوتو، وهو بذلك طريقة للرد على الإدعاءات الأدلة المقدمة قبالة المحكمة من قبل النظام العسكري للجنرال محمد ضياء الحق.
