تناول في هذا الكتاب المواضيع التي تضم كافة مسائل الأحوال الشخصية بطريقة سهلة مبسطة بعيدة عن التعقيد والحشو، فالقارئ لا يحبذ الحشو والإطناب، بل يبحث عن طريق مختصر لتلقي المعلومات، فحاولنا أن نتناول جميع المسائل الخاصة بالأحوال الشخصية بطريقة السؤال ثم الجواب.
وأما المعلومات والإجابات، فقد استقيناها من الجذور الأولى حفاظاً على الجوانب الشرعية والمصداقية والأمانة العلمية، فقد استقينا بعض الإجابات المشار إليها من قائمة المصادر المرفقة في خاتمة هذه الموسوعة، وقد عززناها بما مر علينا من مسائل وقضايا أثناء عملنا في محكمة الأحوال الشخصية.
حتمت علينا هذه الموسوعة تقسيمها إلى خمسة فصول: الفصل الأول: الزواج والخطبة، ويتكون من ثلاثة مباحث: المبحث الأول: الإختصاص والخصومة، الثاني: الخطبة، الثالث: الزواج، الفصل الثاني: الحقوق الزوجية، وينقسم إلى أربعة مباحث: المبحث الأول: المهر، الثاني: النفقة الزوجية، الثالث: الأثاث الزوجية: الرابع: المطاوعة والنشوز.
أما الفصل الثالث: إنحلال عقد الزواج وما يترتب عليه، ويتكون من خمسة مباحث: الأول: فسخ عقد الزواج، الثاني: الطلاق والخلع، الثالث: الرجعة والتعويض عن الطلاق التعسفي، الرابع: التفريق القضائي، الخامس: عدة الزوجة وحقها في السكنى.
أما الفصل الرابع: النسب وما يترتب عليه، ويتكون من أربعة مباحث: الأول: النسب، الثاني: الرضاعة والحضانة والمشاهدة، الثالث: نفقة الأصول والفروع، الرابع: الوصية والإيصاء، أما الفصل الخامس: الميراث والحَجْر والوقف والحجج الشرعية، ويتكون من خمسة مباحث: الأول: أحكام الميراث والتخارج، الثاني: الحَجْر وأحكامه، الثالث: الغائب والمفقود، الرابع: الوقف، الخامس: الحجج الشرعية وما يتعلق بها.
