قد جزت في هذه الحيرة من قبل، لأن ابني البكر مصاب بالتوحد.. اختبرت شعور الأب الغاضب المغتاظ تجاه المتخصصين، واختبرت أيضاً الشعور بالراحة لعلمي بوجود أسرة أخرى تمر بهذا الصراع نفسه، وبالتالي فإن الغرض من هذا الكتاب هو إعطاء نقطة بداية للمتخصصين الذين يواجهون الأسر التي صدمت تشخيص أطفالهم بالتوحد، أنا أؤسس هذه النصائح التي أقوم باسداتها هنا على تجربتي كوالد لطفل يعاني من التوحد، والإعاقة الذهنية، وكطبيب نفسي للأطفال يرى ويتعامل مع أطفال مصابين بالتوحد يومياً، آمل أن يكون هذا الكتاب دليلاً مفيداً يزيد من فهم المتخصصين وقدرتهم على مساعدة الأطفال التوحديين وأسرهم المحبة لهم.
