أشرق نور الإسلام على الأرض فانجلى بذلك النور ظلام الكفر والظلم والإلحاد، وحمل النبيُّ المصطفى محمد لواءَ الحق لينشر دين الله شرقًا وغربًا، وليبلِّغه إلى كل أبيض وأسود وأحمر وأصفر، واستمر في دعوته ثلاثًا وعشرين عامًا تحَمَّل فيها ما تحَمَّل من جحود ونكران، وعداوة وكفران، فاهتدى بهديه من اهتدى فصار من السعداء، وضل من لم يستجب لدعوته فكان من الأشقياء. فلم تمض سنوات يسيرة حتى بلغت دعوة الإسلام الصينَ والهندَ شرقًا، وأوروبا ومجاهل إفريقيا شمالًا وغربًا، فكان فضل النبي على أمة الإسلام عظيمًا لا يحيط به واصف، ومن هنا ظهرت عشرات الكتب– قديمًا وحديثًا- تتحدث عن النبي الكريم، قد اهتم فيها مؤلفوها بجوانب خاصة أو عامة من حياة النبي، وبأخلاقه وصفاته ودلائل نبوته وشمائله؛ وذلك ليقتدي به كل مسلم ويحيا على سيرته ونهجه.
