إن أهم ما تحتاج إليه أمة سيدنا محمد في عصرنا هذا هو أن تتحول أنماط حياتها عما هي عليه من مخالفات في عاداتها وتقاليدها الى الشكل الذي كان يربى عليه النبي عليه الصلاة والسلام أصحابه حتى قوم نفوسهم وأامها على ما يرضي الله سبحانه وتعالى فجعل منهم خير أمة أخرجت للناس. زهدا في الدنيا وتورعا عما لا يليق وثقة بالله وتوكلا عليه فهانت عليهم نفوسهم وأموالهم وعشيرتهم في جنب ما أرمهم به الله. وما كان لهم ذلك إلا حين استهانوا بزخارف الدنيا وحطامها وحنوا إلى لقاء الله سبحانه وتاقوا إلى جنات النعيم. هذا وإن كلما نقرأ أو نسمع عن صفات هذا الجيل الفريد من البشر. علما وعملا ودعوة. إنما كان من تأثرهم بالنبي المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم وتمثلهم لصفاته الشخصية وأخلاقه العملية مهتدين بهديه مقتفين لآثاره في كل حال وقول وعمل ذلك هو تأسيسهم برسول الله عليه وسلم واقتدائهم به وذلك هو الذي يعوزنا و ينقصنا في عصرنا هذا حتى نتخلص مما تورطنا فيه من اتباع للسلف الصالح في السلوك والخلق الا أن يعكف أبناء هذه الأمة على دراسة تلك الصفات التي تحلى بها النبي. ولما كانت الطبعات التي أخرجت متن هذا الكتاب الى أسواق الكتب طبعات فيها من التساهل في تحقيق الكتاب الشيئ الكثير. ومن الاخطاء المطبعية ما هو أكثر بل وأبلغ من هذا وذاك أن هذه الطبعات عزت وفقدت فلم يعد بامكان طالب العلم أن يحصل عليها الا ببذل جهد غير يسير. فقاموا بذلك رضي الله عنهم على أحسن شكل مطلوب فكان ذلك تلبية منهمك لحاجة ملحة لأبناء هذه الامة طالما تاقت اليها واشتاقت نرجو الله سبحانه أن ينفع بهذا الكتاب كل عامل به وقارئ له وناظر فيه.
