على إيقاع "تانغو الغرام" تكتب شادية الأتاسي قصة حب تتجاوز رومانتيكية روايات الغرام المألوفة والمعروفة إلى أخرى، غارقة في الخيال، حالمة، تُحلق بعشاقها في عوالم أخرى، لاحدود لها، قبل أن تحط بهم على صخرة الواقع.
ما حدث لها، كان أشبه بتدفُّق عصفٍ جماليٍ مباغتٍ، لم تجربه من قبل، انتهت المرأة من قراءة رواية، لتجد نفسها عاشقة روائيّاً، يقيم في روايته، تدخل معه في عالم لا يتساوى مع عالمها. "هو" روائي حرّ، خُلق ليكتب، لا ليعشق. الكتابة قدره الجميل. و"هي" امرأة شاعرة، لاجئة تكتب بروحها وجعها، رحل عنها الزوج، ورحلت هي عن الوطن. فأصيبت بعدوى القراءة، لا تبارح عوالم الرواية، تبحث عن شيء ناقص في حياتها تبدأ به حياتها الأخرى. فهل تكافأها الحياة وتُرتب لها وللروائي لقاءً حياً؛ أم سيبقيان حكاية على ورق؟
في الخطاب الروائي تقع القصة في منطقة ملتبسة على الخط الفاصل بين الحياة والكتابة، ويختلط الحقيقي بالمتوهم. الراوية/ البطلة تروي وتعي أنها تروي، وتذكر القارئ أنها تتخيّل هنا، وتفترض هناك، وتبني سيناريو متخيّلاً، تتقاسم فيه البطولة مع الراوي/ البطل في إطار جدلية التجلّي والاختفاء التي تتخطى الواقع إلى الخيال. ولعل انكفاء السرد إلى الداخل واستخدام التداعي والمونولوج والأحلام والبوح يتناسب مع العالم المرجعي الذي تحيل إليه الرواية؛ عالم مثقل بالهزائم والحروب والفقد والهجر.
