كما كان للمسلمين عباقرة في العلم التجريبي والرياضي، كان لهم فلاسفة كبار من أمثال الكندي والفارابي وابن سينا والغزالي في المشرق ، وابن طفيل وابن باجه وابن رشد في المغرب، كما كان لهم فلاسفة اجتماعيين مثل مسكوية وابن الأزرق وابن خلدون فضلا عن فلاسفة لعلم النفس وفلسفة الحضارة وعلوم الاجتماع، كل منهم اهتم بالفلسفة الخالصة ومباحثها الميتافيزيقية العميقة ولم ينسى كل منهم من أن يولى الإنسان اهتمامام خاصا جعل لمبحث الإنسان أهمية خاصة في هذه الحضارة. ولذلك استعرضنا بعض الأبحاث الهامة والدراسات العلمية والفلسفية التى انجزها عباقرة العرب والمسلمين في مختلف جوانب الفلسفة، سواءكان فلسفية ميتافيزيقية او اجتماعية انسانية او متصلة بالحضارة وبالعلم والثقافة كاشفين في الوقت نفسه عن جوانب عبقرية وابداعية لدى هؤلاء الفلاسفة والمفكرين الذين بهروا العالم برؤيتهم المستقبلية العميقة والفاحصة اضافة إلى الذين اشتغلوا بالعلم - خاصة منه التجريبي والاستقرائي- في وقت مبكر من تاريخ الإنسانية يسمى في الغرب بالعصور الوسطى ويسمى عندنا بعصر الاسلام الذهبي.
