يسلط الكتاب الضوء على أهم المناطق الفلسطينية التي شكلت بهندستها المعمارية علامات جديدة مميزة حفظت لفلسطين ذاكرتها عبر الحقبات التاريخية التي مرت بها فلسطين. لقد عكست هذه النماذج المعمارية الحجرية التي يُسلَّط الضوء عليها في هذه الصفحات أنماط الحياة الاجتماعية والتجارية في هذا المجتمع العمراني الزراعي.
في هذا الكتاب، تأخذ المؤلفة القارئ في جولة عبر 17 بيتاً مبنيةً طبقاً لفن المعمار الحجري والمتوزعة في مناطق فلسطينية مختلفة، وقد تمّ اختيار هذه النماذج تبعاً لخصائصها الهندسية المعمارية. وقد انتمت هذه النماذج بهندستها المعمارية لفترات تاريخية مختلفة منها تلك المنتمية إلى الفترة البريطانية (1920 و1930) والقليل ما كان منتمياً إلى فترات تاريخية مبكرة منها على سبيل المثال عمارة طوقان في نابلس، ومنزل الإمام في حيبرون، ومنزل حواء في عكر، ومنزل عبد الله في جنين، هذه كلها تنتمي بفترة عمارتها الزمنية إلى حقبات زمنية تاريخية مبكرة (Late Ottoman Period).
وكانت النماذج المختارة كالتالي: منزل حواء في عكر، قصر جاسر في بيت الحيم، منزل شهوان في بيت جالا، منزل عليان في البيرة، منزل شوا في غزة، منزل قرمان في حيفا، منزل إمام في حيبرون، منزل الخوري في جافا، منزل عبد الله في جنين، منزل العلمي في جيريكو، منزل الحسيني في القدس، منزل قليبو في القدس أيضاً، منزل الآغا طوقان في نابلس، منزل داحر في نزاريت، منزل السابي في قلقيلية، منزل خلف في الرمالة، ومنزل الشماع في صفد. تميز الكتاب بالصور التي عكست أهم الخطوط الفنية الهندسية التي تميز بها كل بناء، مع خرائط هندسية صورت التوزيع الهندسي المعماري لتلك الأبنية.
