الاعتقال هو اداة قهر الاحتلال الإسرائيلي في محاولاته اقتلاع الإنسان الفلسطيني او تفكيك مقاومته او التغلب على ارادته والحد من عزيمته. فصراع السجون او التحقيق هو بالأساس صراع ارادات وأدمغة . وقد ثبت من خلال استطلاع رقمي اولى ان اكثر من ربع الفلسطينيين البالغين قد تعرض للاعتقال مرة او مرات . وإذا استثنى من النسبة العامة جملة النساء والاطفال. فاننا امام نسبة مهولة تؤكد ان كل بيت فلسطيني تعرض احد ابنائه للاعتقال. الأمر الذي يؤكد ان ملف الاسرى والمعتقلين الفلسطينيين ليس ملفا ثانويا في اجندة الصراع، كما يظن البعض. وانما ملف عاجل يحق ان يصنف بمستوى الملفات المركزية لاسيما وأنه يتعلق بنخبة وضعت روحها على أكفها. ونذرت نفسها لمقاومة المحتل وادارة الصراع معه في أجلى المعارك وأصدقها أى في المقاومة الايجابية. وهذا الكتاب ينطلق في تحليله من تجربة أوسلو وما فيها إلى ما وصلنا اليه في خارطة الطريق. ليؤكد فرضية جديدة أخرى غابت كثيرا عن المحللين والمراقبين لمجريات الصراع مفادها أن تقدم المسار السياسي او توقفه.. تسارع المقاومة او تباطؤها رهن بارادة المعتقلين الفلسطينيين القابعين هناك خلف القضبان.
