فكرة إنشاء سوريلف التجمعات السكنية الفلسطينية فى الأراضى المحتلة كانت دائما محل جدل فى الأوساط السياسية فى الكيان الصهيونى إذ كانت خشية اليمين الإسرائيلي دائما أن يشكل هذا الجدار ذات يوم حدودا سياسسة تؤدى الى عودة حدود الكيان على حدود الرابع من حزيران/ يونيو 1967 كذلك كانت خشية قطعان المستوطنين من تفكيك المستوطنات أو إبقائها خارج السور ومن ثم تبقى دون ضم الكيان وظلت عقدة الحدود تؤرق المسئولين الإسرائيليين طيلة عقود لاسيما وأن إسرائيل ليس لديهم ترسيم حدود حتى الآن ومشروعها الاستعمارى يتجاوز الأرض الفلسطينية.
