رغم أنّ مسار تطور العلاقات الأميركيّة - الأوربيّة حيال روسيا الإتحاديّة، بعد تفكّك الإتحاد السوفياتي، قد اتّخذ منحى جديداً مبنياً على تحرك الولايات المتحدة الإنفرادي، على الصعيد الدولي في مختلف بؤر الصراع، إلا أن تلك العلاقات لا تسير على وتيرة واحدة، فهي دائماً في مدّ وجزر، ومهما بدا من شواهد تشير إلى إمكانيّة إستغناء الولايات المتحدة عن حلفاء أو قوى عظمى أخرى، إلا أنّ تجربة السّنوات القليلة الماضية، خاصّة بعد الأزمات في أوروبا ("كوسوفو"، "جوروجيا"، و"اوكرانيا")، والقضايا العالميّة الأخرى، مثل: (الملف النووي الإيراني، والملف السّوري)، قد أدّت إلى دخول قوى عظمى أخرى على خط هذه الأزمات وفي القضايا الأخرى، كالإتحاد الأوروبي وروسيا الإتحاديّة إلى جانب او في مواجهة الولايات المتحدة الأميركيّة، إذ إنّ سّياسات الولايات المتحدّة والإتحاد الأوروبي كانت متقاربة بعض الشيء في إتجاهاتها حيال بعض القضايا، في حين أنّ سّياسات روسيا الإتحاديّة مختلفة تجاه القضايا نفسها.
ومن خلال هذه العلاقات وتطوّرها في كثير من المتغيّرات والمقوّمات، سوف نحاول إستشراف مستقبل علاقات كلّ من الولايات المتحدة الأميركيّة والإتحاد الأوروبي مع روسيا الإتحاديّة؛ من هنا، وفي ضوء ما سبق، ولبناء صورة أكثر تماسكاً لمستقبل العلاقات الأميركيّة - الاوروبيّة حيال روسيا الإتحاديّة، سنحاول إستقراء جملة من المؤشّرات والمتغيّرات المؤثّرة، والعمل على إعطاء نظره إستشرافيّة ومستقبليّة للعلاقات بين الأطراف.
