صدرت رواية "الوجه الأخضر" بعد سنة على صدور رواية "الغولم" التي صدرت عن الدار عام 2017 - ويُعدّ هذان العملان من أكثر الروايات غرابة في الأدب الألماني حيث يوظّف مايرينك الغرابة والخروج عن المألوف لإيضاح سلطة العالم الروحي على العالم المادي.
