محمد بن سيرين البصري، الأنصاري بالولاء، أبو بكر: إمام وقته في علوم الدين بالبصرة.
تابعي. من أشراف الكتاب. مولده ووفاته في البصرة.
نشأ بزازا، في أذنه صمم. وتفقه وروى الحديث، واشتهر بالورع وتعبير الرؤيا.
واستكتبه أنس بن مالك، بفارس. وكان أبوه مولى لأنس.
ينسب له كتاب (تعبير الرؤيا - ط) ذكره ابن النديم، وهو غير (منتخب الكلام في تفسير الأحلام) المطبوع، المنسوب إليه أيضا، وليس له .

Book Description
ما أكثر الأشخاص الذين توصلوا إلى اكتشاف حقائق مجهولة في الماضي والحاضر عن طريق الأحلام، ولطالما كان الحلم مخبراً بصورة صريحة أو مع شئ من التحوير-وبمساعدة التفسير-عن بعض الحقائق التي لم تكن تخطر على بال الحالم أو ضميره الباطن! وإن هذه الطائفة من الأحلام من الكثرة بمقدار أنها لا تقبل الإنكار والتكذيب. والرؤيا الصالحة هي نوع من أنواع الرؤى الكثيرة وهي عبارة عن كشف روحي باطني وإلهام رباني لا تكون للإنسان إلا عندما يتنزه باطنه عن الرذائل والغفلات فتكون له نوراً يسدد له الطريق في الظلمات وتكون سبيلاً لهداية الناس. وهناك من الأحلام ما يكون أفكاراً عادية أو أسرار خفية ترمز للضمير الباطن للإنسان. إذن هناك أنوع للأحلام منها ما يخضع للتفسير الديني ومنها ما يخضع للتفسير العلمي النفسي ومنها ما ليس له أي تفسير والتي عبر عنها القرآن الكريم (أضغاث أحلام).
وهذا الكتاب من الكتب الهامة والتي تمثل الصدارة في تفسير الأحلام وتأويلها وذلك لأنه يجمع ويحسب الترتيب الهجائي مجموعة أعمال العلامة ابن سيرين والعلامة ابن شاهين والعلامة عبد الغني النابلسي.
ولأهميته اعتنى "معروف مصطفى زريق" بتهذيب الكتاب وإخراجه في هذه الطبعة الجديدة بعد أن جمع كما قلنا خلاصة أعمال ثلاثة من كبار المصنفين في الأحلام وتأويلاتها. أما عمله في التحقيق فيتجلى بـ: "تخريج الآيات الكريمة والأحاديث النبوية الشريفة، توضيح مضمون بعض المفردات الغامضة التي تحتاج إلى توضيح، سواء كان التوضيح لغوي أو علمي، قام بترتيب جميع الأحلام في الكتاب بالشكل المتسلسل في نمطية العام والخاص، وذلك بعد أن راجع معاجم اللغة العربية. كما واعتنى بخوف ما كان في الكتب الثلاثة من قضايا تشير صراحه لقضايا الجنس، وهدفه مراعاة الناحية التربوية التوجيهية في الكتاب العام.
