نشأ بزازا، في أذنه صمم. وتفقه وروى الحديث، واشتهر بالورع وتعبير الرؤيا.
واستكتبه أنس بن مالك، بفارس. وكان أبوه مولى لأنس.
ينسب له كتاب (تعبير الرؤيا - ط) ذكره ابن النديم، وهو غير (منتخب الكلام في تفسير الأحلام) المطبوع، المنسوب إليه أيضا، وليس له .

Book Description
The author of this book is Muhammad Ibn Sirin Al-Basri, coming from Al-Ansari tribe, he was one of the jurisprudents of Al-Basra. He was famed for his piety and was the most popular Imam concerning many sciences, in particular the sciences of religion, where he studied jurisprudence and quoted Al-Hadith from Abu Huraira, Abdullah and others.
In addition, Qatada Ibn Doa’ma, Ayyoub Asskhtayani and other Imams from his. This book “interpretation of dreams” is the most famous book written by Ibn Sirin in which he informed us about visions and their interpretations with an alphabetical index of the terms.
