بونسون دو ترايل: روائي فرنسي، معروف بكتاباته في أدب المغامرات.
ولد ألكس بونسون دو ترايل عام ١٨٢٩م، بمدينة مونمارتر الفرنسية. عُرف بإنتاجه الأدبي الغزير، فقد أنتج ثلاثة وسبعين مجلدًا خلال عشرين عامًا. تنتمي أعماله الروائية المبكرة إلى الأدب القوطي، وعندما بدأ في كتابة «سلسلة روكامبول» قام بنشرها في جريدة يومية، وهي سلسلة من القصص المنتمي لأدب الغموض والمغامرة، وقد مَثلت هذه السلسلة تحوله من الأدب القوطي إلى الأدب البطولي الحداثي.
وقد توفي بونسون دو ترايل عام ١٨٧١م.

مَنْ يدفع أكثر هو مَنْ يختار اللحن» هو القانون السائد بين السواد الأعظم من البشر وبين وريقات قصص هذا السجن تتجلَّى مفردات تلك المعاني، وتتنوع الأقصوصات التي يرويها نزلاء السجن التي يجمعون فيها صور قانون البشرية في توزيع أنصبة البشر من إرث الشقاء والسعادة. ومن بين هذه القصص قصة «روكامبول». فبعد عشر سنوات قضاها «روكامبول» في سجن طولون قرر الهرب، ولم يكن ذلك عسيرًا عليه؛ فأفرادُ عصابتهِ يفدونه بحياتهم. وبعد تلك التجربة القاسية في السجن، تحول روكامبول وعصابته إلى الخير؛ فكانت أولى أعمالهم هي إنقاذ «أنطوانيت» من الموت. وهكذا دخل روكامبول وعصابته عالم الخير.
