ويقع هذا الكتاب فى ثمانية فصول، يتناول الفصل الأول أسباب التدهور البيئى ثم تعالج الفصول السبعة الأخرى أهم المشكلات البيئية العالمية في الوقت الحاضر مثل، التلوث الهوائى، الأمطار الحمضية، استنزاف طبقة الأوزون الاحتباس الحرارى، التغيرات المناخية، التصحر، والتلوث السمعى (الضوضاء).
وقد حاولنا عرض تلك الموضوعات فى أسلوب بسيط يقبله كل من دارس العلم، والقارئ العادى، فالهدف هو التبليغ عن والتحذير من مشكلات البيئة ومدى خطورتها وكيف نقاومها باعتبار ذلك مسئولية فردية وجماعية قبل أن تكون مشكلة عالمية.
