ولقد أتيحت لي الفرصة أن أطلع على عشرات الكتب والدراسات والمقالات باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية، والتي تناولت موضوع البيئة، ومشكلاتها، وطرق حمايتها، من منظورات كثيرة، إلا أنني لم اعثر على كتاب يعرض مشكلات البيئة بإسهاب لا ملل فيه، ويحدد وسائل حماية البيئة بتفصيل لا لبس فيه، فكان هذا الكتاب.
