كثيراً ما تشكل بعض الكلمات والألفاظ على طلاب العلم والباحثين، ويصعب عليهم الترجيح، وبيان الأرجح من الراجح، ويغمض عليهم التقديم والتصريح، ويُغْلَق عليهم ما هو واضح عند أهل الإختصاص، فيرجعون في ذلك إلى الكثير من المعاجم والمراجع في صحيح اللغة، وربما لا يهتدي بعضهم إلى معرفة ترتيبها، ولا يهتدي إلى بغيته في الوصول إلى ما يسعى إلى مناله، فيكون سبباً في التشتُّت وتضييع الجهد والوقت، وربما سبباً في هجر الكلمات وهجر التحقيق في التصحيح.
لذا سعيتُ إلى منع الوقوع في ذلك عن طريق وضع معجم متواضع لما هو ضروري وشائع من الخطأ المتداوَل، في عيون الألفاظ، يساعد الباحث في معرفة الصحيح والثابت.
وحرصت في ذلك على الإختصار والإقتصار على المهم والمشهور، والإبتعادِ عن كل ما هو نادر ولا يحتاج إليه الكُتَّاب.
ورتبت الألفاظ بحسب الحرف الأول منها، وَفْق ترتيب الحروف الهجائية المعروف للجميع من الهمزة إلى الياء.
ولقد اخترت هذه الطريقة دون سواها لأنها أكثر تأليفاً، ولسهولة مراجعة معاجمها، وحفظ حروفها الناطق وغير الناطق بها، ولكثرة استعمالها.
