هذه الحكايات العتيقة ضاربة بجذورها في وجداني منذ نعومة أظافري، فأنا من جيل تربى على روايا الجدات والأمهات قبل النوم، بل كانت الحكاية الليلية جزء من ذاكرة جيلي ممن هُم اليوم في العقد الخامس.
كلما استعدتُ مثلاً أو حكمةً أو بيتَ شعر لأسلافي وجدت أن له اليوم ما يوافقه على أرض الواقع، بل لا أبالغ إن قلت أن سياسة القرية والقبيلة لا تختلف كثيراً عن سياسة الدول سوى بتطور الأدوات وإنتشار العلم النظري.
سعدتُ بأن رعيتُ مع أقراني الغنم، وحرثتُ الأرضَ، وحصدتُ السنابل، وحملتُ الأعلاف، وحميتُ الزرع من غزوات الطير، وسقيتُ الحقل، والتحقتُ بالمدرسة فتفوقتُ وأخفقتُ، وتخرجتُ وعملت، وحضرت مجالس الكبار، ورصدت الأحداث، وعشقتُ الحياةَ وإنْ لم تبادلني العشق بالعشق دوماً لكني واقعي معها تجاهلت وتجوهلت، وبكيت وضحكت، وتزوجت وأنجبت، وتعلقتُ وفقدت.
بالطبع كثيرون مثلي عاشوا وتعايشوا ولو أتيحت لهم فرصة لكتبوا أفضل مني.
هذا الكتاب حديث الذات قبل أن يكون أحداث مجتمعات دونتها لأوثق شيئاً مني لعلي أكون بعد حين من الدهر إنساناً مذكوراً.
