سادة الإستفهام) رواية تحكي بشاعة الحروب وعماها، وتشابه المآسي وعالميتها وعدم دوامها، وإنبثاق الخلاص من قلب المحن، وبزوغ الفجر من ظلمة الليل.
وإذا كانت الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية شكلت ذاكرة اللبنانيين قرابة عقدين من الزمن، فإنه من الطبيعي أن تكون مادة روائية. فالرواية بمعظمها هي صنعة الذاكرة.
يبدأ الراوي عمله مع وقف اطلاق النار، أي مع إعلان نهاية الحرب، أي وقف الأعمال الحربية وجمع شمل رموز الحرب على طاولة اتفاق.
عبر رؤية فلسفية حول منطق الحرب يرى فيها "سرور" أن القاسم المشترك بين العلم والجهل والدين هو القتل المجاني، يدلف بقلمه إلى ساحة الحرب عبر اثنين من أبطال الرواية سماهما "حرب الأول" و"حرب الثاني" إذا ما تمنعا في قراءة هاتين الشخصيتين نرى أنهما اختزال لجيلين أو لإيديولوجيتين يختلف معهما مفهوم الوطن فكل يحبه على طريقته وبينهما خط وهمي اسمه (التماس) الذي كان ألعوبة خارجية تحركها هواتف الكبار بما يشبه لعبة شطرنج، أما المكان فاختصر بمواقع الحرب المتقاطبة، وكل موقع يدعى الدفاع عن النفس والموطن، وكذلك الزمن –زمن الرواية- لم يخرج عن دائرة الحرب الأهلية وإطارها..
ما يميز الرواية تلك الومضات الفلسفية التي يطلقها أبطال الرواية يحللون فيها ظروف الحرب وأسبابها إلى جانب أحاديث المكان والزمان والهوامش التي تظهر بين الحين والآخر في مشاهد الحرب من خلف المتاريس ورائحة الدم والبارود والرجال المتمرسين خلف الحواجز الترابية ينتظرون أمر إطلاق النار، وفي النهاية لا منتصر فعلي فالجميع خاسرون...
