بول ريكور (بالفرنسية: Paul Ricœur ) فيلسوف فرنسي وعالم إنسانيات معاصر ولد في فالينس، شارنت، 27 فبراير 1913، وتوفي في شاتيناي مالابري، 20 مايو 2005. هو واحد من ممثلي التيار التأويلي، اشتغل في حقل الاهتمام التأويلي ومن ثم بالاهتمام بالبنيوية، وهو امتداد لفريديناند دي سوسير. يعتبر ريكور رائد سؤال السرد. أشهر كتبه (نظرية التأويل -التاريخ والحقيقة-الزمن والحكي- الخطاب وفائض المعنى - Interpretation philosophic theory - Discourse and the Surplus of Meaning / من منشورات جامعة تكساس المسيحية عام 1976).

سيجد القارئ هنا أهم المقالات التي نشرتها في فرنسا أو خارجها طيلة الخمسة عشر عاماً الأخيرة, مجتمعة. بذلك تلي هذه المجموعة كتاب صراع التأويلات الذي يغطي مرحلة الستينات. وإذا لم يحتفظ بنفس العنوان لهذه السلسلة من المقالات, فلأنني على العموم أظهر نفسي فيها أقل اكتراثاً بالدفاع عن شرعية فلسفة للتأويل إزاء ما كان يبدو لي ساعتئذٍ بمثابة تحد, سواء تعلق الأمر بعلم الدلالة أو بالتحليل النفسي, ولأنني لم أعد أشعر البتة بالحاجة إلى تبرير حق الوجود بالنسبة للعمل الذي أمارسه, فإني أستسلم دون وساوس أو قلق دفاعي لذلك.
صحيح أن الأبحاث الثلاثة الأولى, ما تزال تحمل علامة الحاجة إلى الشرعية؛ لكنني لم أكن أبحث عن موقع إزاء المنافسين المفترضين بقدر ما كان إزاء عرفي الخاص في التفكير.
ترسم نصوص السلسلة الثانية بدقة, نبرة التفاهم السلمي الذي سمحت به لنفسي في هذا الكتاب. هنا, أمارس التأويل. لقد عينت من أين أتيت. وسأقول الآن إلى أين أذهب. هناك خاصية غالبة تتأكد درجة درجةً في هذا المشروع التأويلي المكافح, أقصد إعادة التسجيل المتنامية لنظرية النص في نظرية الفعل. إن ما كان يهمني على الدوام, في التحليل السيميائي أو الدلالي للنصوص, هو بالأساس, خاصية شكلها التداولية إزاء بنينة الحقل التطبيقي الذي يظهر فيه الناس كفاعلين أو كجامدين.
أما ما يتعلق بالدور المتروك للخيال في تشخيص النص وإعادة تشخيص الفعل, فإنه يعلن عن موضوع الجزء الثالث.
لقد جمعنا في القسم الأخير بعض الأبحاث التي تهيمن فيها موضوعة الأيديولوجيا. فهي ترتبط بالسابق عبر الدور المتروك للخيال الخلاق والرسم الخيالي على صعيد الممارسة الإجتماعية.
