يفصح هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا بصورة دقيقة عن أثر الفكر الديني في البلاغة العربية بإعتبارها علماً متمثلاً في المباحث البلاغية، وبإعتبارها فناً قوياً متمثلاً بالشعر والنثر.
وبناءً عليه، سلك البحث في تمهيد وبابين وخاتمة، ولقد أشار المؤلف في التمهيد إلى المقصود بالفكر الديني وأثر هذا الفكر، بصورة عامة، في البلاغة العربية.
أما الباب الأول، فهو الإتجاه العلمي في البلاغة العربية وهو يشتمل على ثلاثة فصول هي: الفصل الأول: وهو يتناول مصادر الإتجاه العلمي الممثلة للفكر الديني، والفصل الثاني: تناول الآثار التي تركها الفكر الديني في قسم من مباحث البلاغة، والفصل الثالث: تناول معالم الإتجاه العلمي.
أما الباب الثاني فهو الإتجاه الأدبي في البلاغة وقد سلك المؤلف في خمسة فصول: الفصل الأول: وقد تكلم فيه عن مصادر هذا الإتجاه، أما الفصل الثاني: فتناول فيه ما تركه الفكر الديني المتمثل في معاني القرآن الكريم والحديث من آثار في فن القول للتمثل في الشعر والنثر، وأما الفصل الثالث: فيتناول فكرة الإعجاز في وجهها البياني من العصر القديم إلى العصر الحديث، أما الفصل الرابع: فيكشف عن فلسفة الجمال البلاغي وإرتباطها بالفكر الديني، وأما الفصل الخامس: فتناول معالم هذا الإتجاه كالحكم على النص، والتعليل الفني، والأخذ بمنهج التركيب، والعناية بالنص، وقد انتهت الرسالة بخاتمة أشار فيها المؤلف إلى نتاج البحث.
