في هذه الدراسة يجتمع إيقاعان، أرى أنهما موقفان إلى حد بعيد، الأول الدراسة الأكاديمية بشروطها المعروفة التي تغلّب التقاليد، والثاني إنفتاح الكتابة النقدية، وإن ترويضهما في عمل نقدي مهمة ليست باليسيرة.
وكثيرة هي الدراسات الأكاديمية حول القصة التي تزخر بها رفوف المخطوطة منها، لكن قليلة التي تلقى الإعترافين وترى النور مصحوبة بشرطي الشهادة والكتابة النقدية، والإعتراف الثاني لا يأتي بسهولة وقد توفر لهذه الدراسة، فعجينتها عركت بيدٍ هي واحدة من صناع مادتها الخام (القصة) وهي لا تعرف تقنياتها وحسب ولكن تحسن قراءتها في سياقها، لذا عنيت بالقراءة النقدية التي تعود للنظريات والإتجاهات الحديثة، فكان أن أفادت من دراسة التداخل الأجناسي وتداخل الفنون فضلاً عن التناص لتتضافر مع قراءة العتبات، والقراءة الأخيرة غير مسبوقة، وإجتماع هذه القراءات ليس بالمتباعد، فهي تعنى بشكل المتن والنص الموازي له، وبالمحصلة هو مما انفتحت عليه القصة بوصفها فناً إبداعياً، والتفات الدراسات النقدية التي تثريها إجتراحات النصوص الإبداعية على حد سواء.
وتأتي بعد ذلك هذه الدراسة وقد فحصت كما كبيراً من النصوص القصصية القصيرة وعلى مدى عقود لتقف أمام قضاياها الفنية ذات الصلة، وكان في عنايتها النص الإبداعي في تاريخ قريب مثّل أهم إنشغالات التجريب الذي استوت فيها القصة العراقية بمقامات القصة في العالم العربي، وهو إنشغال كانت الستينات من القرن الماضي أهم تحدياته، لكن جاء أكله المنظم في زمن لاحق وبالوعي الرصين والمتمهل، فكانت تجارب مهمة أكثر من أن تعد تستحق هذه الإحاطة التي حرصت عليها هذه القراءة.
وأخيراً نستطيع أن نقول: تضيف هذه الدراسة قراءة جديدة إلى جنب الدراسات القليلة التي كان همها القضايا الحداثية في القصة القصيرة في العراق.
