ويحاول هذا الكتاب دراسة بعض نواحي الجغرافية البشرية دراسة عامة فيتناول بعض الموضوعات التي تعتبر مقدمة للدراسة التفصيلية لفروع الجغرافية البشرية المتعددة-والتي لا يمكن الإلمام بها إلا من المراجع المختصة بدراستها-وعلى هذا الأساس لا يتناول هذا الكتاب دراسة لجميع فروع الجغرافية البشرية-لأن ذلك يحتاج إلى مجلدات عديدة-ولكنه بلا شك يشمل جزءاً منها، ويعطي صورة سريعة للعلاقة بين الإنسان وبيئته الطبيعية وهي المجال الرئيس والنواة الحقيقة التي تحوم حولها الدراسات الجغرافية البشرية.
