اعتاد الباحثون أن يفتتحوا مؤلفاتهم بمقدمة يتناولون فيها عرضاً موجزاً لما يحتويه مؤلفهم من فصول، والخطة التي اتبعوها في الربط بين هذه الفصول، ليعطوا القارئ فكرة مبدئية عن مضمونها، ويهيؤه للولوج في خضم التفاصيل التي تنطوي عليها صفحاتها. غير أنني قررت الخروج في هذا الكتاب عن التقليد المتبع. لأن الدراسات التي تضمنها هي بحوث متفرقة أعددتَ بعضها بناء على طلب تلقيته من الإتحاد الأردني لشركات التأمين لتنشر بصورة متواصلة في أعداد نشرة رسالة التأمين الدورية التي يصدرها الاتحاد المذكور. لذلك فهي لا ترتبط بتسلسل متصل، وإن الرابطة الوحيدة بينها هي أنها تتعلق بنظام التأمين. وقد اقتصر قسم منها على معالجة بعض المسائل التي اختلف التشريع والفقه والقضاء في تحديدها. فقراءتها لا تحتاج إلى مقدمة أو تمهيد. وبإمكان القارئ الكريم أن يسترسل في قراءتها وفقاً للتسلسل الذي يريد.
