ولفلسفة اللغة تاريخ طويل لن يعرض له هذا الكتاب، لكنه سيهتم اهتماماً أساسياً بموضوعاتها كما يراها المناطقة والفلاسفة واللغويون الغربيون المعاصرون، مع إشارات موجزة إلى تراثه القديم والحديث بطبيعة الحال.
