"حياة متخيلة – أوفيد في المنفى" رواية من ترجمة الشاعر "سعدي يوسف" الذي أضاف إلى العنوان الرئيسي عنواناً فرعياً "أوفيد في المنفى" ويعني به الشاعر الروماني الذي نُفي إلى أقصى الحدود الشمالية للأمبراطورية الرومانية فعاش وحيداً مع البرابرة ما تبقى من سني حياته.
تحكي هذه الرواية قصة "أوفيد" المنفي في قرية "تومبيس"، والطفل المتوحش ساكن الغابة مع الأشجار والضواري. وبين هاتين الشخصيتين اللتين اختارهما المؤلف للبطولة في نصه تمضي الرواية وتحلق بعيداً في أفق من الشعر والدهشة، حيث يلعب الخيال دوراً بارزاً في أسلوب الروية السردي في تصعيد درامي للأحداث المتتالية، ما يجعلنا أمام عمل روائي خلاّق.
في هذا النص نجد طفلاً جاء إلى الغابة ولكن متى جاء وكيف لا نعرف. عاش مع الحيوانات، ومع بقائه طويلاً بقربها اكتسب صفات وسلوكيات منها .. فهو لا يعرف عن نفسه شيئاً، وإلى أي نوع ينتمي. إن بشريته بحاجة إلى ترويض، للعودة إلى كينونته كإنسان. فأولاً يجب أن يتعلم اللغة، للتواصل مع الآخرين، وهنا يتحمل "أوفيد" عبء المهمة الجسيمة الملقاة على عاتقه وخصوصاً بعد أن نفر أهل القرية من الطفل، وصاروا يحذرون منه ويطلقون عليه الشائعات. فهل ينجح "أوفيد" في مهمته. هذا ما تخبئه فصول هذه الرواية التي تقترب أكثر فأكثر من جوهر الجنس البشري فتدخله في أعماقه لتبيّن لنا البراءة الأولى عند الإنسان حين يمتزج بالطبيعة، ووحشيتها وطاقاتها. وهنا يضيء الراوي هذه البقعة المعتمة من النفس البشرية فنتعلم معه كيف نكتشف ذواتنا نحن أيضاً وليس فقط طفل الغابة.
