يتناول هذا الكتاب نظام الأسرة وحل مشكلاتها في نظر الإسلام.
يبدأ الكتاب بتمهيد. يتحدث بعده عن الأسرة في القرآن الكريم، ويورد لمحة عن تقنين أحكام الأسرة، ثم ينتقل إلى الزواج ويبدأ بعقد الزواج، ويتناول المبادئ العامة للزواج، ثم أحكام الخطبة والزواج. ثم الخطبة وآثارها، ويتحدث عن أحكام الخطبة ثم ما ينشأ عن العدول عنها من مشكلات، وحصرها في نقطتين: - حكم المهر والهدايا التي قدمها الخاطب./ وهل يجوز التعويض للعدول عن الخطبة.
ثم ينتقل إلى آثار الزواج ويتناول أحكامه وآثاره في قضايا المهر، ويذكر بعض المشكلات، والنفقة والمسكن الزوجي.
بعد ذلك يتحدث عن الطلاق في الشريعة الإسلامية مقارنة بغيره من النظم العالمية. ثم يقف عند علاج حالات الطلاق ويجملها في أربعة حلول ذاكراً موقف الإسلام منها.
وينتقل إلى المبادئ العامة في الطلاق والشروط العامة فيه، ودور الزوجة فيه، ودور القضاء كذلك. ثم يتناول حقوق وواجبات الآباء والأبناء. ويتعرض لمسألة حماية الجنين ورعايته، ثم حقوق الطفل بعد الولادة. ويتحدث عن النسب وتحريم التبني ووجوب رعاية اللقطاء في الشريعة الإسلامية، ثم الرضاع والحضانة ومبادئها وأحكامها، ثم حق الولاية.
ويتحدث عن حقوق الأقارب، ويتناول النفقات، ثم مبادئها العامة لنظام الميراث، ثم الحقوق المتعلقة بالتركة، وقواعد توزيع حصص الورثة، ثم ينتقل إلى الوصية ويتناول مبادئها العامة، ثم أحكامها وشروطها.
ويختم بملاحظات ونتائج.
