الانجليزية هي اللغة المحلية الثانية في العالم بعد اللغة الصينية، وهي اللغة الأهم في عالم التجارة. ويتكلمها سكان البلاد التالية: المملكة المتحدة البريطانية: 58 مليون نسمة، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية: 269 مليون نسمة، كندا: 7 مليون نسمة، أستراليا: 21.9 مليون نسمة، نيوزيلندا: 3.6 مليون نسمة.
تبدأ معاناة المسافر غير المتقن للغة البلد الذي يقصده عند وصوله إلى مطار هذا البلد. فالاستدلال إلى أبواب الخروج وإلى أماكن جلب الحقائب هو أول ما يواجه المسافر عند الوصول.
ثم تأتي مشكلة الانتقال من المطار إلى البيت أو الفندق الذي سينزل فيه المسافر. فالتفتيش عن سيارات الأجرة أو الباصات أو القطارات واختيار ممن منهم يوصلك بالطريقة الأسهل، لهما مهمتين مستحيلتين إذا لم يكن بإمكانك التحدث بلغة البلد المقصود. وتصل إلى الفندق حيث تبدأ معاناة من نوع آخر، فيمكن أن الفندق لم يحجز لك غرفة، أو أنه حجز لك غرفة ولكن ليست بالمواصفات التي طلبتها. كل هذه المشاكل لا يمكن مواجهتها إذا لم تكن تتقن اللغة الفرنسية أو على الأقل استخدام التعابير التي يمكن أن تسهل لك المهمة.
(( دليل المسافر إلى الانجليزية)) هو دليل بكل ما للكلمة من معنى، إذ يمكنك الاستعانة به منذ وصولك إلى المطار في لندن وحتى عودتك إلى بلدك، مروراً بما يواجهك من مشاكل في الفندق أو في المطعم، أو عند تأكيد الحجوزات من أجل العودة، أو عند استئجارك لسيارة، أو عند القيام بجولات سياحية والتسوق في المحلات التجارية الكبرى، أو المشاكل الصحية التي يمكن أن تتعرض لها أثناء السفر.
وللاستفادة من هذا الدليل، عليك أن تكون ملماً إلماماً بسيطاً باللغة الانجليزية، لأن هذا الدليل لا يعلمك أصول اللغة، إنما يعلمك كيفية التعاطي والتخاطب مع الآخرين أثناء السفر، ويركز على المصطلحات التي ستستعملها بالتأكيد خلال سفرك. دليل المسافر أصبح اليوم حاجة ماسة لكل تاجر أو سائح أو طالب أو لمسافر من أجل الإقامة الدائمة.
