يساعد هذا الكتاب الطلاب على استيعاب وإتقان اللغة الإنكليزية. وهو على نقيض الكتب التجارية التي تتطرق فقط إلى ترجمة المضمون، يعتمد على الشرح، الذي يكفل للطالب فهم النصوص وكيفية التعامل مع التمارين. ويعد الكتاب المقرر لبنة جديدة في بناء المنهاج الجديد الفعال؛ وهذا بالضرورة يتطلب معرفة طريقة دراسته التي تجدها مرافقة لكل تمرين؛ مما يتطلب اهتماماً بالملاحظات التي ترافق كل تمرين؛ لأن ذلك يساعد الطالب على تنظيم دراسته بناء عليها. ويبدأ الكتاب بفصل ( أساسيات اللغة الإنكليزية ) الذي يجد فيه الطالب شرحاً مبسطاً لجميع القواعد التي سبق أن مرت معه مع أمثلة عملية على كل قاعدة. ويعالج الكتاب بعد ذلك الوحدات ( 1-14 ) فيرتب مفردات النص وتراكيبه في جدول مع معانيها، ليسهل حفظها، ولتساعد الطالب على فهم النص، ثم جدول يشتمل على مفردات التمرين. ويشرح كل قاعدة في النص وفي التمارين، مع أمثلة مبسطة لكي يتم استيعابها بوضوح. يلي ذلك جدول تتضمن معاني جميع المفردات والتراكيب في كلا الكتابين - كتاب الطالب وكتاب النشاط - بالترتيب الهجائي للإنكليزية؛ تكون زاده للعام المقبل. ولكي يطمئن الطالب على إجاباته على التمارين بعدما يحلها، يجد - على غرار الكتب الأجنبية المماثلة - إجابات للتمارين في فصل (( ملحق مفتاح الإجابات لكتاب الطالب )) ثم فصل لإجابات تمارين كتاب النشاط. ويختم الكتاب جدول لتصاريف الأفعال الشاذة التي وردت في كتابي الطالب والنشاط فقط. وينصح الطالب باقتناء شريط الكاسيت الخاص بالكتابين، ليسمع فيه اللفظ الطبيعي والسليم لجميع الجمل الواردة في نصوص الوحدات وبعض التمارين.
