فراس السواح كاتب ومفكر وباحث سوري في المثيولوجيا وتاريخ الأديان. ولد في مدينة حمص في سوريا عام 1941 .
يعمل بروفيسوراً في جامعة بكين للدراسات الأجنبية ، منذ عام 1976، مختص بدراسة الحضارة العربية وتاريخ الأديان في الشرق الأدنى. نشر 26 كتاباً عن الأساطير، والتاريخ، وتاريخ الأديان.
