مؤلفة هذا الكتاب هي السيدة باترسيا غويللرماز الفرنسية , عاشت في الصين سنين طوالا وتعلمت لغة القوم وقد نشرت كتابين عن الشعر الصيني , أولهما تمت ترجمته الى اللغة العربية ويشمل نماذج من الشعر الصيني من أقدم عصوره حتى اليوم
ثم نشرت المؤلفة كتابا ثانيا عنوانه ((الشعر الصيني المعاصر )) وجعلته ثلاثة أقسام
1- القسم الأول من حركة الاصلاح اللغوي الى قيام النظام الشيوعي في الصين

3- والقسم الثالث نماذج من الشعر الاشتراكي في الصين من عام 1949-1961
والكتاب الثاني يكمل الكتاب الأول , ونماذجه كلها من الشعر الحديث , والذي نلاحظه في الكتاب الجديد هو أن الشعر الصيني كان منذ عهوده الأولى شديد الصلة بالمجتمع , ولاسيما بالشعب وآلامه , قوي النزعة الانسانية , كثير الحقد على الطغاة والمستبدين , أقول ان هذا الشعر قد ازداد احساسه بالشعب , ووعيه لسير التاريخ , بل اشتراكه عمليا في صنع الحضارة الانسانية الجديدة التي ليس فيها استعمار ولا استثمار.
