برز في الآونة الأخيرة الاهتمام الواضح وعلى المستوى العالمي بالمسرح لكونه وسيلة تعليم واتصال جيدة ولا سيما في حقل التربية والتعليم فالمسرح أداة سمعية – بصرية (حسية مباشرة) تختزل الكثير من الجهد والوقت في تعلم البشر بمختلف أعمارهم، من هنا جاء اهتمام الباحث الدكتور كريم حميدي بالمسرح التربوي باعتباره وسيلة من وسائل التعليم فخصَّ مرحلة (رياض الأطفال) بدراسة نظرية – ميدانية تهدف إلى معرفة الواقع التعليمي في مرحلة رياض الأطفال من حيث المنهج والطرق التعليمية المستخدمة والوسائل المساعدة على تعليم طفل الروضة مسرحياً.
ولغرض تحقيق أهداف الدراسة قام الباحث بزيارات ميدانية إلى (23) روضة بواقع (3) رياض في بغداد و(20) روضة في البصرة، وأجرى مقابلات مع أولياء أمور أطفال الرياض يساعده في ذلك خبرته العملية في حقل التربية والتعليم فطبق على العينة المختارة أدوات البحث العلمي المعروفة من استبيان واستمارة ومقابلة وغيرها، ولكي يتعمق الدور الفاعل لجانب المسرح التربوي وأهميته في تعليم أطفال الروضة فقد قدم الباحث/ المؤلف نماذح مقترحة لأفكار تمثيلية لتعليم طفل الروضة يمكن للمعلمة أو المختص في إعداد مناهج رياض الأطفال العمل على أسلوبها جاعلاً مستوى هذه الأفكار تتفق وميول وقدرات الأطفال حيث بلغت (8) ألعاب تمثيلية تربوية مع رسوم توضيحية، وهي تتوافق أيضاً مع أعمار أطفال الرياض، ومن الممكن تحويرها وإعادة صياغتها بما يتلائم مناهج رياض الأطفال العربية وثقافاتهم الخاصة.
