تناول الباحث في هذا الجزء حزب الوفد بعد معاهدة 1936 حتى 1952، وانتقل إلى الحديث عن الوفد في المعارضة من عام 1938 حتى حادث 4 فبراير 1942، ثم تحدث عن حكومة 4 فبراير 1942، وسياستها الداخلية والخارجية، والمؤتمر الوفدي الكبير الذي عقد في نوفمبر 1943، كما تحدث عن سياسة الوفد العربية، وصراعه مع القصر، حتى إقالة الحكومة في 8 أكتوبر 1944، وانتقل الباحث إلى معالجة موقف الوفد في المعارضة من 1944 إلى 1950، ثم تحدث عن وزارة الوفد الأخيرة، فتناول سياستها الداخلية والخارجية، وحركة العمال، وإلغائها معاهدة 1936، وما تبعها من معركة القنال، وحريق القاهرة في 26 يناير 1952، ثم إقالة حكومة الوفد.
