هذه دراسة منهجية لمعلم بارز من معالم البلاغة القرآنية، تحتضن "مجاز القرآن في خصائصه الفنية وبلاغته العربية، وتمتد لجذوره الأولى بالبحث والكشف، وتستوعب أصنافه البيانية بالإيضاح والإبانة، أخذت من القديم أصالته وروعته، واستلهمت من الحديث تطوره ومرونته، فانتظم هذا وذاك في مناخ تصويري متكامل، يعني من مجاز القرآن بالعبارة حيناً، وبالأسلوب حيناً آخر، وبالألفاظ فيما بينهما، ويخلص في مهمته إلى رصد القدرة الإبداعية الناصعة، ولمس الأداء التعبيري المتطور في لغة القرآن العظيم، وكانت منهجية هذه الدراسة تتمثل في خمسة فصول وهي بما اعتمدته من منهج عربي تراثي، اختص الأول منها بمسيرة المجاز القرآني منذ نشوء الحديث عنه حتى العصر الحاضر، واستلهم الفصل الثاني منها حدود المجاز الاصطلاحية، وتقسيماته البيانية، وأبعاده الموضوعية، ووقف الفصل الثالث منها عبر الخصائص الفنية الكلية في مجاز القرآن، وتمحض الرابع والخامس لشؤون البلاغة العربية في مجاز القرآن، فطرح ما هو طارئ عليها، وأكد على الموروث القرآني بخاصة. وكانت مصادر هذا البحث ومراجعه، تهتم بالأصيل عند القدامى والجديدة عند المحدثين، فكانت كتب البلاغة والتفسير واللغة والنقد والأدب وعلوم القرآن، رافداً يستمد منه البحث ريادته في استقراء الحقائق، واستكناه المجهول، وإضاءة المنهج.
