ليس من اليسير أن تقدم إلى الناس كتاباً يتناول نسب وحياة وشعر أمير من أمراء الشعر العربي وفارس عظيم بمنزلة الأمير الشاعر نمر بن عدوان، إذ لم تكن على درجة عالية من الوعي الثقافي بمحيطه الذي عاش به وبتتبع دقيق وإتصال مباشر مع الخلف الذين توارثوا نقل الأمانة بصورة الحقيقية دون تحريف أو نقصان، وليس من الصعب أيضاً أن تجد الحقيقة كامنة في قلوب وعقول أولئك الذين حفظوا للفارس مكانته وقيمته الأدبية وكفارس له صولات الرجال وكرامة الشيوخ وصاحب قلب لم تشهد بادية العرب قلباً بحسه المرهف وبإكتنازه للحب الطاهر، ولم تشهد حبيبه خلدها شعر حبيبها كما خلد شعر نمر بن عدوان وضحا، الزوجة الصالحة والأم المثالية والعقل الكبير المدبر، والحبيبة التي عشقها بأشد من عشق الصحراء للنبع الرقراق، وجعلها تعتلي منزلة عند العرب ما اعتلتها امرأة في تاريخ البادية، إنه نمر بن عدوان، المثقف، المؤمن، في وقت وفي أمكنة شح فيها الإيمان والثقافة، فكانت ثقافته ثورة على تلك التقاليد والأعراف التي جعلت المرأة في منزلة العبيد والإماء، وانتقل بها إلى الشأن الكبير وقد تجاوزت في ذلك منزلة بعض شيوخ القبال بما حازت عليه من مديح وثناء تناقله الشعار في كل المجالس، وفرضه على المجتمعات البدوية والمدنية بقوة وصدق الصور الشعرية وجماليتها التي جسدت وقع المصاب الجلل الذي أصاب قلبه، وصدى آلامه وحرقته في شعره.
ولكي أضع القارئ الكريم في حقيقة مجردة، عن نسب وحياة وشعر هذا الفارس العربي الكبير، بعد أن تعرض لكثير من الدس تجاوز شعره وطال نسبه، وتجاوز واقع حياته، إلى درجة التلاعب بمفردات وحتى أبيات من شعره، كان لزاماً علي وأنا أحد رجالات هذه القبيلة، التي كان سيدها وزعيمها يوماً ما هذا الفارس العظيم، أن أتجرد عن كل شيء وابحث عن الحقيقة بحثاً دقيقاً موضوعياً يعطي لهذا الجواد حقه علينا ونحفظ له مكانته في قلوبنا وعقولنا ونصونها بحقيقتها النقية الصادقة للتاريخ وللناس في كل الأمكنة والأزمنة.
