لذلك عزم المؤلف في كتابه هذا إلى تتبع اخبار هذا الشاعر، وفحص شعره بهدف الكشف عن النواحي الفكرية والفنية لهذا الشاعر المجيد، فناقش في الفصل الأول حياة الشاعر في حين تناول في الفصل الثاني أغراضه الشعرية، ودرس الفصل الثالث مادة الصورة عند الشاعر، أما الفصل الرابع فقد درس بناء القصيدة عند الشاعر،وقد اشفع هذا بدراسة تحليلية تطبيقية لنص من النصوص الشعرية للشاعر.
