في روايته "المهاجر الروسي، تشيك" يجنح الكاتب الألماني فولفغانغ هيرندورف على إعتماد طريقة التشخيص النفسي، والتمثيل الدرامي، والحوار الباطني عند رسم الشخوص، فهذه الطريقة هي التي أتاحت للشخصية الرئيسية في الرواية "تشيك"، أو "التلميذ المنقول" الكشف عن ذاتها، وتشيك هو التلميذ الروسي الذي نقل إلى ثانوية في ألمانيا لمتابعة دراسته، كان يأتي دائماً بقميصه العتيق نفسه إلى المدرسة ولا يساهم في الدرس ولا يقول سوى "نعم" أو "لا" أو "لا أعلم" كلّما نودي عليه، حتى أنه لم يقم علاقة صداقة بأيّ تلميذ آخر، هذه الحال التي كان عليها "تشيك" أطلقت بسببها الإشاعات حوله وحول أصوله وطرحت جميع الإحتمالات ومنها إنه قادم من بلد الشيشان أو من صربيا أو موسكو... وسواها من إحتمالات، ليتبين لاحقاً إن عائلته منحرفة إجتماعياً نوعاً ما، وهو من أسرة شديدة الثراء، لكنّه يعاني من الإهمال بسبب أن والده ساقطان إجتماعياً...
قالوا عن الرواية: "رواية تجعل القرّاء البالغين سعداء، ويمكن أن يهديها المرء إلى نظراء أبطال الرواية في السّن وقت ما يشاء - "زود دويتشه تسايتونغ".
إنها رواية مغامرات رائعة وحزينة معاً، وتتحدث عن شرق ألمانيا الغامض، وفيها عيب واحد فقط وهي أن قراءتها تنتهي بسرعة شديدة - "محطة الإذاعة البريطانية".
هذه الرواية ستقرأ حتى بعد خمسين عاماً، ومن الأفضل أن نبدأ بقراءتها الآن، صحيفة "فرانكفورتر ألغمانية تسايتونغ".
أين هو تشيك أصلاً؟ كنت قد رأيته في الطريق السريع وهو يثب على ساق واحدة في إتجاه الأدغال، بيد أنني أتوقع بأنهم أمسكوا به أيضاً، فهو لن يتمكن من قطع مسافة طويلة على ساق واحدة.
وبالطبع أنني لا أستطيع طرح أسئلة على الشرطة، فمن الأفضل منطقياً أن لا أبدأ بذلك، طالما أنّهم لم يرونه، ولعلّهم لن يرونه.
وبلا شكّ أنّهم لن يحصلوا على أيّ شيء منّي أنا، ويمكنهم أن يمارسوا التعذيب معي، على الرغم من أنّ الشرطة الألمانية لا يحقّ لها أن تمارس التعذيب، حسبما أظنّ، وهم لا يمارسون ذلك إلا في التلفزيون، وكذلك في تركيا.
