رشف من فنجان الشاى و استرخى فى مقعده العريض المريح لظهره من الآلام التى تعاوده بين الحين و الآخر منذ حادثة السيارة التى نجا منها بمعجزة، كان القدر رحيماً به فلم يمت فى ذلك اليوم، لا يعرف إن كان العسكرى الإنجليزى الحمار الذى قطع عليه الطريق فجأة قد تعمد ذلك طبقاً لمؤامرة أعدت لاغتياله أم أن الحادث كان مصادفة كما يؤكدون، إحساسه ينفى شبهة المؤامرة، فى نفسه يعلم أن الحادث تم ب رشف من فنجان الشاى و استرخى فى مقعده العريض المريح لظهره من الآلام التى تعاوده بين الحين و الآخر منذ حادثة السيارة التى نجا منها بمعجزة، كان القدر رحيماً به فلم يمت فى ذلك اليوم، لا يعرف إن كان العسكرى الإنجليزى الحمار الذى قطع عليه الطريق فجأة قد تعمد ذلك طبقاً لمؤامرة أعدت لاغتياله أم أن الحادث كان مصادفة كما يؤكدون، إحساسه ينفى شبهة المؤامرة، فى نفسه يعلم أن الحادث تم بفعل المصادفة وحدها، ببساطة لأن أحداً لم يكن يعلم وجهة سيره حتى يدبروا خطة لاغتياله، بل إنه هو نفسه لم يكن يعلم فى صباح ذلك اليوم، فقد خطرت على عقله الفكرة بعد الإفطار صباحاً، أن يذهب إلى الإسماعيلية ليعاين الإصلاحات فى يخته هناك، فقام من فوره و تأهب للرحلة، و اختار بعد دخوله الجراج أن يذهب بسيارة صغيرة اشتراها حديثاً أحب أن يجربها فى الطريق على سبيل التغيير.
